Cleaning Stone Surfaces Every Day
- Use a gentle cloth or a non-abrasive scourer dipped in warm water with a mild detergent to clean the surface. After rinsing with water, pat dry with a paper towel or gentle cloth.
- Always clean up spills that are wet to avoid developing a patina.
- To make sure a cleaning product won't harm the surface, test it on a discrete spot. The accumulation of patina may appear as a light-colored stain.
- Metal marks, fingerprints, and other traces of daily wear are more likely to appear on honed and ultra-rough finishes, but they are easily removed with non-abrasive cleaning solutions like CIF cream or Cilit Bang Bleach & Hygiene. Avoid using a polishing machine on the surface.
